💗 ESSENCE 💗 2-in-1 Eyeshadow & Liner {beauty review}

Hi All

Hope you all had a great weekend. I was completely dreading today. I had taken a few days off from work since wednesday, so there is nothing worse than having to go back to work on a Monday lol.

I hope you all enjoy my review today of the Essence 2 in 1 Eyeshadow and Eyeliner jumbo pencils.

WHAT THEY SAY   Eyeshadow or eyeliner? both! the conical shape of the mine is easy to apply as an eyeliner and can be used as an eyeshadow, too. no matter whether natural or intensive – everything is possible with the 2 in 1 eyeshadow & liner.

WHAT I SAY   These are AMAZING! First lets talk range of colours. They come in 6 colours; (1) Go Bro’zne, (2) Peach Perfect, (3) Light Me Up, (4) Black To The Routes, (5) I’m Blue and (6) She’s Got The Mauve . I picked up 4 of the 6 colours. The packaging is nothing special but its sturdy and reliable which counts. It doesn’t break easily as i already dropped one of my pencils without a crack or breakage in the colour.

You might think trying to get a perfect line, when used as an eyeliner, with these jumbo pencils might be difficult and messy but actually they aren’t at all. It pretty easier to use and it doesn’t need sharpening (yay) as its a twist function and a lid that clicks in place to stop drying out.

The texture is smooth and creamy while the pigmentation is not intense but its just enough to do the job. I like that its not over the top, but has subtle colour when needed.

Now lets talk about the most important part, quality and staying power. THESE.DONT.BUDGE no seriously, i swatched these babies and even used my trusty micellar water to get it off my arm and it stayed put. They really keep their promise when they say waterproof. For a drugstore brand, once again essence doesn’t disappoint. I mostly use the “Black To The Routes” and “I’m Blue” as an eyeliner and the rest as an eyeshadow. I used my thin angled eyeliner brush to blend the black/blue eyeliner and a sturdier eyeshadow brush to blend the colour on my eyelid. You can also use your fingers to blend the eyeshadow.

And the final test was the staying power…. i did the ultimate test. I used both the “Black To The Routes” as an eyeliner and “Go Bro’nze” as an eyeshadow. I applied them at roughly 0515 in the morning (i started work at 6am), i finished work at 1430, went across to my family’s coffee shop, helped out there until +-1700. Did shopping afterwards, cooked dinner etc and took my makeup off at around 1930/2000 and it hadn’t faded or smudged one bit.

I am so happy with these new products from Essence  and for this price tag as well as quality i would recommend it to everyone.

PRICE    R 53.95 each available from Dis-Chem

Go Bro’nze is a medium brown with a subtle silver shimmer. Its my favourite colour of the range.

Peach Perfect is a light pinkish beige that is perfect for a natural everyday look. I sometimes use this as a highlighter under the arch of my eyebrows as well as in the corner of my eyes.

Black To The Routes is a typical matte black which is perfect to use as an eyeliner as well for a smoky eyeshadow look

I’m Blue is a matte grey blue and the colour to use if you don’t want anything too dark, but still create a subtle gorgeous smoky eye

Have you tried these? If so what did you think?

  1. I’ve got it in shade 06 – She’s got the mauve…and I am obsessed! I really love it! I made a heart shaped ‘tattoo’ on my hand and it literally stayed put for 2 days! lol. I actually want to go and get 2 or 3 more, because I am seriously impressed with these…and at that price you can’t go wrong.

    I had NO idea it had the sharpening twist function…lol. So thanks for the head’s up!
