♥ SKIN ♥ Night Time Routine

Hi Everyone

Hope you all having a good week.

I have been meaning to do a post like this for a long time now. I am so happy with how my skin is looking lately, i used to suffer badly with my skin the 1st half of last year. I had a flare of adult acne from about 25-29 years old which was terrible. Since using all these products together for the last 6 months my skin has never looked or felt better. Its not perfect, don’t get me wrong. I still have milia (very small white bumps) under my eyes and on my cheeks, but i still feel confident (some days lol) to go without makeup.

Hope you enjoy this post as much as i enjoyed putting it together

STEP 1     I start my night-time skin routine with the Garnier Micellar Water. I have all 3 types: Sensitive (pink), Pure Active (blue) and Oil Infused (gold) – I tend to use the gold at night and either the pink or the blue in the morning.

I use the Clicks brand oval dual textured cosmetic pads with the Micellar water to remove my makeup. I use 2 to remove my makeup and a 3rd to remove my eye makeup. This Garnier Micellar water is my holy grail for removing my makeup – I can’t imagine using any other product

Micellar Water (400ml) is available from both Clicks and Dis-Chem  for R 84.95-R89.95
Clicks is currently having a sale for R 63.95 – R 67.95

STEP 2     I then wash my face with the Freeman Beauty Charcoal & Black Sugar Polishing Mask. Not sure why they call it a mask, it’s more of a face scrub. Its very grainy -the sugar. I wet my face with warm water to open up my pores, apply the product to my face and working in circular motions I “scrub” my face, I leave it on for a 5-10 minutes while i shower / bath, by now the sugar has dissolved and I rinse it off. It leaves my skin feeling silky smooth and moisturized.

It’s gentle enough to use daily as it’s not as harsh as a normal face scrub/exfoliator. Since I started using this every day and using my Nivea men’s aftershave balm daily I haven’t had a single break out in just over 6 months. I used to breakout badly along my jawline before i started using it.

Freeman Beauty Masks are available from Dis-Chem for R 27.95 (15ml) & R 92.95 (175ml)

STEP 3    Once a week I use the Clicks branded Skin Essentials Perfecting Nose Pore Strips – Charcoal to keep any blackheads at bay. I wet my nose with warm water, peel the clear protective layer off the charcoal strip and apply it to my nose. You can wet the strip a little once on your nose but careful not to get it too wet.

After 10 minutes when the strip feels hardener, I peel the strip off leaving my nose so smooth. If there is product left on your skin after peeling the nose strip off just remove it with a little water.

The Charcoal Nose Strips are available from Clicks for R 39.95 for 6 strips

STEP 4    Twice a week I use a Freeman Beauty Mask and a Cettua Mask

  • From the Freeman Beauty range I use the Dead Sea Minerals Anti-Stress or the Pomegranate Revealing Peel-Off Mask and the Acai Purifying Clay Mask. I apply a thin layer on my skin  and leave it on until it feels tight and peel it off as carefully as I can – my OCD loves it when I can peel it off in 1 go. The clay mask you rinse off with warm water

  • If you don’t like the above types of masks you can use a “cloth” mask, like the Cettua mask (below). You remove the “cloth” mask out the packing, apply it to my face and leave it on for 30 minutes and throw the mask away once done.

I have tried the Hydrating Facial Mask, the Anti-Aging Facial Mask, the Brightening Facial Mask, the Oil Control Facial Mask, the Anti-Redness Facial Mask, and the Pore Control Facial Mask

Freeman Beauty Masks are available from Dis-Chem for R 27.95 (15ml) & R 92.95 (175ml)

Cettua Masks are available from Clicks for R 35.99 for 1 Mask

STEP 5     After all the above is done I apply a thin layer of Benzac AC 5 Gel on my face and neck and sleep with it on overnight. Benzac AC 5 Gel is used for the treatment of acne. This water-based gel contains benzoyl peroxide, which has in vitro bactericidal activity and keratolytic properties, reducing the concentration of free fatty acids in the sebum

It has 2 types of packaging, not sure why as both are from the same company (Galderma), i think they had a redesign on the packaging and still selling both.

Benzac AC 5 Gel is available from both Dis-Chem and Clicks for R 86.95 for a 15g tube
Dis-Chem is currently having a sale for R 69.95

What are your skin go-to’s for clearer, healthy skin?

  1. Omg I use the same products swear by them, but for everyday wash I use Cetaphal it’s the best in summer for breakouts👌🏻
