πŸ’— MASCARA MONDAY πŸ’— Essence Forbidden Rebel Volume Mascara

Hi Everyone

Hope you all had a great weekend and had a good start to your week. It was an awful weekend for me. Apart from working and offering to do overtime both days with a throat infection i managed to push myself to go to work and stay at work for 14 hours each day, all i can say is thank goodness today was my off day so i can try and get better before its back to the grindstone tomorrow.

Today I’m sharing a new mascara i purchased from Dis-Chem. I had almost forgot i had it, it was right at the back of my mascara draw, as its not one of my favourite’s from Essence.

I don’t only want to do “good” reviews of products, if i don’t like a product, i still want to do a review so i can be honest with my readers / followers.

ABOUTΒ  Β So good, it should be forbidden! dramatic volume without clumping. the forbidden volume rebel mascara offers even more intense, instant volume thanks to the special design of the fiber brush with alternating shorter and longer fibers. no limit!

MY REVIEWΒ  Β Ok so don’t get me wrong when i said its not one of my favourites. I love using Mascara’s that give me both length while curling and then volume. I don’t want to have to use 3 types of mascara’s everytime i apply my makeup, but i do find myself using 2 just about everyday.

I like to start off with a mascara that’s going to give me lashes length with a bit of a curl, like the Lash Princess and then finish it off with the Instant Volume Boost or Lashes of the Day mascara to add the volume. That is where this mascara fits in, the volume category BUT i find this brush a little difficult to work with.

It had a very thick and chunky wand head with wave like bristles that picked up a lot of product, a little too much product that if not applied correctly but make your lashes look very thick and messy. Its the perfect mascara for the volume effect but be careful when applying, you know what they (who is this “they”?) say “Less is More”

I don’ think i’ll be re-purchasing this particular Mascara, but in saying that Essence get is right about 90% of the time – which is amazing! So i’ll keep buying and trying all the new mascara’s that Essence bring out.
