💙 DERMALOGICA 💙 Sound Sleep Cocoon {review}

Hi Everyone

Today i am so excited to be sharing with everyone the new product from Dermalogica. Its called the Sound Sleep Cocoon Transformative Night Gel-Cream

I was lucky enough to be invited to the launch of this product at the One & Only hotel in Cape Town back in May. It was a great night of catching up with fellow bloggers, meeting some for the first time, delicious food, interesting presentations and of course being introduced to the product itself.

Revitalizing treatment gel-cream transforms skin overnight by optimizing nighttime skin recovery. Tamarind seed extract creates a nourishing cocoon of comfort for softer, more hydrated skin while encapsulated, motion-activated French-lavender essential oil (with Sandalwood and Patchouli) work all night to promote deep, restful sleep for healthier-looking skin by morning. Other key ingredients include Persian Silk-tree extract which reduces signs of skin fatigue and restores vitality while Wu-Zhu-Yu extract provides visibly radiant skin by the a.m

Lets talk packaging first. Its a twist and pump container that with 1 or 2 pumps its dispenses just the right amount. My favourite part of the packaging…. no spillage. How many times have we travelled, packed our toiletry back, got to other end of our trip, opened our case, and no matter if if its a twist lid top or a clip in, our product has leaked. With this product, leakage just isn’t a factor!

Effects of lack of sleep on your skin:
* It lowers the skin’s complexion PH levels and decreases the moisture levels causing your skin to look less youthful and less of a glow.
* It causes dark circles to develop under your eyes from the blood vessels that dilate when the skin isn’t able to regenerate cells and also causes bags under your eyes to form
* Some studies have shown that lack of sleep is linked to weight gain, due to increased in hunger and decreasing metabolic rates
* Your body produces more cortisol which us is a stress hormone – this hampers the production of collagen – the main structural protein found in skin that strengthens and gives elasticity, along with replacing dead skin cells

The Gel-Cream contains Tamarind Seed Extract to helps promote skin’s natural hydration process, Wu-Zhu-Yu Extract that provides visibly radiant skin by morning and improves skin texture, Persian Silk-Tree Extract which reduces signs of skin fatigue and restores vitality, Australian Kakadu Plum Extract that is rich in antioxidant vitamin C, clinically shown to improve and brighten skin tone and last but not least Encapsulated Motion-Activated French-Lavender Essential Oil with Sandalwood and Patchouli that work all night to promote deep, restful sleep for healthier-looking skin by morning

Your skin is nocturnal and enters a regeneration mode while you sleep, repairing itself. Apply this gel-cream over any of your other skin toners and treatments as your last step in your night time routine just before your go to bed. I haven’t seen a drastic change in my skin but i have noticed its looking a little brighter in the morning, my skins texture has improved slightly and i am getting a good nights sleep thanks to the Lavender. I feel myself falling asleep easier and quicker, with less tossing and turning and therefore waking up feeling more refreshed.

Set yourself up for a good night’s sleep with a calming bedtime routine. Try these steps to promote restful, regenerative sleep using sound sleep cocoon. Sleep is crucial to overall skin health but sometimes, falling asleep is the hardest part. Use our Sound Sleep app in conjunction with sound sleep cocoon to help induce relaxing, restorative sleep (click here)

It sells for R 1295.00 – 50ml at your local Dermalogica store or online (here)
