I have been so excited to do this post. Before i went ahead and bought the Revolution Conceal & Define Foundation, i watched Youtube videos and read a few blog posts as its difficult buying a foundation without number 1, testing which shade best suits you as its not available in South Africa and number 2, if i would even like it. There were a lot of mixed feelings in regards to this foundation.
I’m usually a light(ish) foundation shade, with L’Oreal Infallible i use Natural Rose & True Match i’m Vanilla, Catrice Made to Stay i’m Ivory Beige and the Revolution Fast Base foundation stick i use both F4 and F6 – F4 is described for Light Skin with Natural Undertone and F6 is described for Light/Medium skin with a Yellow Undertone.
So when choosing what shade i would be for the Conceal & Define Foundation i went with F4 and F6, and because Superdrug had a 3 for 2 special i added the F2 for contouring (lighter areas). Well its turns out, of all the shades F6 ended up being a perfect match….
I love the packaging of this foundation, It a heavy glass bottle which feels very sturdy and the rose gold makes it look so classy.
Now the question is, did i like this Foundation ? I have been testing it every single day since the 3rd of November and i can say for certainty that i absolutely love it. I’m not the biggest fan of the doe foot applicator as i don’t find it very hygienic, i’m using it to apply directly to my skin, putting it back in the tube and reapplying. I guess you could spray it with a something like the Freedom Pro Studio Antibacterial Brush Shower Spray but i don’t know what that would do to the formula of the foundation when you put the applicator back into the tube
It blends easily with a dampenerd makeup sponge and dries to a satin matte finish. It honestly feels like i’m wearing no makeup as it’s a light weight formula that has quickly become one of my favourites.
Next question, does it last through the day? I have done quite a few double shifts as work lately, starting at 6am and getting home at 10pm, so i really put it to the test.
It lasted for a good 12 hours. I did notice towards the end of my shift i had a little but of “cracking” near the mouth area, the foundation had faded at the tip of my nose, but that might have been due to my allergies and i also noticed some slight separation in the cheek area but other than that, i am extremely happy with this foundation and i will definitely re-purchase it.
Its not available in South Africa – holding thumbs they do bring it here but it is available from Superdrug and Revolution Beauty for GBP 9.00 . Superdrug still have a 3 for 2 special which includes this Foundation
Hope you have great week
